**EARLY VOTING ENDS THE DAY PRIOR TO AN ELECTION AT NOON**
In-person voting takes place at the Miami County County Clerk's Office/Administration Building located at 201 S Pearl Street, Paola.
- Voting hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday
- Extended/Saturday hours may be available for national and state elections
- Photo ID must be shown when voting
Permanent Advance by Mail
- You must have a permanent disability or illness to qualify for permanent advance
- Call the County Clerk's Office to have an application mailed to you
- Mail or fax the completed application to the County Clerk's Office
- After marking your ballot, place it in the return envelope and sign
- Affix the appropriate postage and mail it to the County Clerk's Office
You can return your own ballot in person to the County Clerk's Office or designate someone else to return or mail your ballot for you. The person you designate has an affirmation to sign, too!
Advance Ballot by Mail
- Call the County Clerk's Office and/or print an Application for Advance Voting Ballot
- Mail, fax or email the completed application to the County Clerk's Office
- Include a copy of your Photo ID or print your valid Kansas State Drivers License or State ID number on the application with your application
- Upon receipt of completed application a ballot will be mailed to you
- After marking your ballot, place it in the return envelope and sign
- Affix the appropriate postage and mail it to the County Clerk's Office
You can return your own ballot in person to the County Clerk's Office or designate someone else to return your ballot for you. The person you designate has an affirmation to sign, too!
NOTICE OF CHANGE: House Bill 2056 (HB 2056) – 2023 Kansas Legislative Session
- HB 2056 removed the longstanding 3-day grace period, which previously allowed advance ballots postmarked by Election Day to be counted if they arrived up to three days later.
- Under this bill, all advance ballots must now be received by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day to be counted starting January 1, 2026.
