Election Details

This election is being held for the Republican and Democratic Parties to narrow their candidates for the General Election. You must be affiliated with one of these parties in order to vote their respective ballots. However, if there is a question on the ballot, all voters—regardless of party affiliation—may vote on that question.

If you are already affiliated with a party the last day to change your affiliation is Monday, July 1st, 2026 at noon, by filling out a new voter registration. If you are unaffiliated you can affiliate when you vote. The Election Workers at check-in will ask you how you would like to affiliate or if you would like to just vote the Question ballot (if that is available)

Early Voting (in-person) will be available for this election for anyone who is eligible to vote during this election. It will be held in the Administration Building at 201 South Pearl Street - Follow the signs upon entering the building.  Early Voting will be available from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  starting on Thursday, July 16th, to Friday, August 1st, during normal business days/hours. There will be extended hours and Saturday voting available during this election.  Early Voting will end on Monday, August 3, 2026, at NOON!

As required by K.S.A. 25-3009, a postelection audit of ballots cast in 1% of precincts in Miami County shall be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026 in the Board of County Commission Chambers located in the Administration Building at 201 S Pearl in Paola.

In even-numbered election years, the law requires auditing one federal race, one statewide race, one state legislative race and one county race contest randomly selected after the election by the Kansas Secretary of State.
