Post your employment opportunities on our Miami County Jobs Facebook page.
Take advantage of Johnson County Community College's resources on their Career Development Page.
Make your local Chamber of Commerce aware that you are hiring. They may be able to list your job openings on their website or in their next newsletter. Find your local chamber here.

Tip #3 - Participate in a Job Fair

Consider promoting employment opportunities at a local job fair or host one onsite. Check out the Southeast KansasWorks Facebook page to find upcoming job fairs.

Tip #4 - Create a Flyer

Flyers are not high-tech, but they can be very effective. Some tips to keep in mind:

  • Colleges and non-profits typically want to review the content of a flyer before it is posted on their property. Grocery stores and coffee shops tend to have a more relaxed, self-service policy. If you aren’t sure, ask before you post.
  • Flyers should include as much information as possible. Share salary range, benefits, minimum qualifications, and a proposed shift time. If the position is flexible on any of those points, that needs be stated clearly.
  • Try to be brief. Skip unnecessary adjectives and use bullet points to communicate core ideas.
  • Include the window of time the position is considered open. Job seekers will be spurred on by a sense of immediacy to contact the business sooner.
  • Use bright colors or images to make it stand out.
  • Small budgets are no longer an excuse for poor design. There are a lot of online templates to make this process easier.
  • Convert the flyer into a digital graphic and share it in relevant online forums like Facebook, Instagram, and websites.
  • Consider posting it at coffee shops, hair salons, barber shops, restaurants, local events, gas stations, hardware stores, local charities, food pantries, laundry mats, gyms, etc.
